My Review On Tate Modern

Structure And Clarity

The structure and clarity exhibition at the Tate Modern gallery portrayed the work of Dan Flavin, who's dazzling, atmospheric works use mass produced fluorescent lights arranged in simple linear from. His work contained a simple layout of lights, using different compositions. I enjoyed his work, as it lit up the room with its bright light, making it a joy to watch.

The Untitled by Dan Judd, Colorist is a vibrant celebration of colour in the form of a homage to the sculpture Donald Judd. The bright colours represent excitement and happiness. I enjoyed it because it bring joys to peoples life’s; creating smiles across their face, a light to peoples life.

Cubism has been considered the most influential art movement of the 20th century. Piet Mondrian, Composition C, is a mature painting, he narrowed his paintings to use only primary colours. The division of the canvas creates irregular patterns, within an ordered geometric whole. The lines represent a on going journey. A Journey that never stops. This is an abstracted painting, that represents a spiritual and utopian ideas.

The work of Wassily Kandinsky, Swinging is an oil painting. "There title swinging conveys the paintings sense of dynamic movement, suggested by the rhythms of modernity." (Tate Modern, Swinging, 2013, www.tate.org.uk) Kandinsky focused on spiritual in art. He used bright colours to construct art from naturalistic appearances. The bright vibrant colours jump out of the page. The piece is full of different geometrical shapes, from triangles to circles ect, however the composting of each shape connects and works well together. The shapes look like they have been layered onto each other. The piece portrays mystery, it lets the mind explore and create its own imagery. Allowing us to imagine whatever we want the image to be to us, letting us interoperate it as we like. I personally think this piece was to minimalistic and dull as it don't not have a lot to it, explore different shapes and colours.

Making paper garmets

As a group we put together all our creations of the previous elements of the garmets we made the day before together, in doing that we created a a outfit. We put all the different elements together anmd came up with the final piece. I found this very proactive and stimulative, as it brought out my creative streak. I also worked with other class members pieces for a garmet and put them together creating diffefrent garmets, from dresses, to skirts ect. This was very fun as it allowed me to be motivated and intreged into the world of fasion.

Paper Garmets Worn By A Person

This challenge involved me and a partner making a paper garmet that one of us had to wear. We was given coloured paper to construct this garmet. We came together and put both out ideas together to come up with a outfit. Once we started adding each piece together constructed on a mannequin we realised that the manequin was quite small built so we had to make the skirt slightly bigger. to create the skirt we added brown paper and curled it with a pair of scissors. W also added a body chain made out of paper crteated by loops hooked together.. We then thought that the bodyb chain was dominant because it was red and vibrant. So we decided to add the red paper in the skirt to bring out the colour. Another problem we faced was that we would have to get the outfit off the mannequin and onto the my partner, so we made an incision on the skirt by cutting the back, this allopwed us to place the outfit on my partner. To ensure that it held back together we stappled it back together once on her.

This piece was an inspiration for a skirt, made out of paper. The aim of the project was to create 3d garmets. In order to create this piece I made a shape of a cone and cut out little circle papers, that created a ruffle, in which infused texture and pattern.

This garmat was created in order to look like a flower, it can be used as a brotch

However he could not get escape from inside the shoe, he tried everything to try ad get ouit of the shoe, fromj barking to his owner so that they could hear him, but this did not work. He also tried to climb ougt of the shoe bt he was just to small. He happened to com across a spider that lived in the shoe, he was afraid of the spider because it was bigger than him. Bt the spider meant him no harm, the spider had managed to help the dog escape by building a web. in which the dog was able to escape.

Machines I Will Be Likely To Use In Future Projects

Personally I have not used most of the machines, therefor they are all new to me. However, I cant not wait to be able to use them an create exciting pieces that I will be proud of. I hope to use them soon.
